As you may know, since August 2023 minimum training requirements for the safe use and handling of diisocyanates for professional and industrial users have become mandatory in the European Union and the UK. Diisocyanates are one of the main building blocks to make polyurethanes, including some of our adhesives and potting compounds.
A new flier has been issued, which we think is worth publicising.
The organisations concerned, ISOPA and ALIPA, represent major European manufacturers of (di)isocyanates and polyols, the main raw materials used to make polyurethanes. You can get the training at safeusediisocyanates.eu.
Alternatively, if you use polyurethane adhesives, you can avoid the training by moving to our Point-One™ Polyurethane Adhesives. They are based on a micro emission technology. The concentration of monomeric diisocyanates is less than 0.1% by weight. There is no requirement for any users to undergo the mandated diisocyanate training, reducing training obligations, certification and operational downtime. Let us know if you would like to evaluate one of these polyurethane adhesives. You can buy some at intertronics.shop. Let’s start by talking about your application.
