This is a eucalyptus tree. We have recently got excited about the eucalyptus tree, and not because we are koala fans. Well, not just because we are koala fans.
Here are five facts to get you excited too.
Fact 1 – eucalyptus grows fast, by forestry standards
Many eucalyptus species reach harvest maturity in around 7 to 10 years. That makes it a renewable source of cellulose when grown and managed responsibly, rather than something that takes generations to replace.
Fact 2 – it is very good at making cellulose
Eucalyptus wood has a high cellulose content, which is exactly what you want when producing viscose, the regenerated cellulose fibre. That means consistent fibre quality without having to rely on synthetic reinforcement.
Fact 3 – you get more fibre from less land
In commercial forestry, eucalyptus can deliver a high yield of usable cellulose per hectare compared with slower-growing alternatives. That matters if you think sustainability is about land use and resource efficiency, not slogans.
Fact 4 – viscose can genuinely biodegrade
Viscose substrates can be made into wipes that are independently certified as biodegradable in soil, freshwater, and marine environments. Under standard conditions, they demonstrate biodegradation within 12 weeks. That is a very different proposition from synthetic wipes that persist as microplastics.
Fact 5 – this is the material Endurawipes are made from
Endurawipe™ Biodegradable IPA Wipes use a eucalyptus-derived viscose substrate. They are pre-saturated with 70% IPA/30% DI water, delivering effective surface cleaning and surface preparation with added convenience and reduced solvent waste.
If sustainability matters in your factory, start with something practical, and something which doesn’t attract a price premium for the privilege.
Request a sample of Endurawipe™ Biodegradable IPA Wipes and evaluate biodegradable pre-saturated wipes. Another step toward lower-impact production.
